Other Courses Offered
Here at Lakewood Ranch we encourage students to take as many agriculture courses as their schedule allows if that is their passion and future. There are two courses that students can take while they are pursuing other agriculture courses or if they have completed an agriculture pathway.
Ag OJT
Course Title: Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources Cooperative Education OJT

Course Pre-requisite: ** Must be a Junior or Senior that has completed Agritechnology 1 & 2, Animal Science 1 or 2, or Horticulture 2 & 3 or is currently enrolled in an Agriscience course.
Course Requirements: Students are required to work 7.5 hours of work for every class period they are enrolled in OJT. Students are required to have parent, employer, and teacher approval. You must be a member of the FFA CTSO Organization to enroll in this course.
Course Description: This program offers a sequence of courses that provides coherent and rigorous content aligned with challenging academic standards and relevant technical knowledge and skills needed to prepare for further education and careers in the Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources cluster; provides technical skill proficiency, and includes competency-based applied learning that contributes to the academic knowledge, higher-order reasoning and problem-solving skills, work attitudes, general employability skills, technical skills, and occupation-specific skills, and knowledge of all aspects of the Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources cluster.
